Stephanie is a Wolastoqiyik woman originally from Neqotkuk (Tobique) First Nation. She is a skilled crafts person and a gifted seamstress, who has been designing clothing and accessories such as boots and jewelry for many years. A combination of traditional and contemporary designs ranges throughout her clothing; they include originally designed stitching for her hats, purses, gloves and jackets. The mix of the traditional and contemporary aim toward a creation of clothing that is “wearable art”. Her talent as bead-work designer is complemented by the materials she chooses. Her creative bead-work patterns are applied to velvet and wool, which give it that extra flair. Stephanie has exhibited her fashion designs throughout the Maritimes and Ontario, and has entered her pieces in fashion shows. She is constantly looking for innovative ideas to apply to her style of clothing.
