Colleen Gauvin is a well respected Mi’gmaq elder from Eel River Bar First Nation. She is self taught in making my moccasins and has perfected her craft for the past 52 years. She specializes in the creation of unique hand sewn, hand beaded moccasins and leather mitts using traditional designs, tanned moose hides and furs. In her spare time, she likes to create beaded earrings of different designs, always ready to take custom orders. Daughter of the late Margaret Labillois, Colleen was encouraged from a very young age to express herself through her crafts.
